Bike Case Hire Agreement

By ticking the checkbox during the booking process and submitting a booking with Burwash Bike Box Hire, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the following terms and conditions.

1. Hire Equipment

You are hiring a bike travel case and any accessories supplied by Burwash Bike Box Hire (“the Equipment”) for the rental period confirmed in your booking.

2. Responsibility for the Equipment

You are responsible for the Equipment from the time it is collected or delivered until it is returned to Burwash Bike Box Hire.

You agree to:

• Use the Equipment carefully and only for its intended purpose.
• Ensure the Equipment is transported, stored, and handled safely.
• Return the Equipment in the same condition as supplied, allowing for fair wear and tear.
• Notify Burwash Bike Box Hire as soon as reasonably possible if the Equipment is lost, stolen, damaged, or involved in an accident.

3. Damage, Loss, or Non-Return

If the Equipment is lost, stolen, destroyed, not returned, or damaged beyond reasonable wear and tear during the hire period, you agree to pay the reasonable cost of:

• Repairing the Equipment; or
• Replacing the Equipment where repair is not economically practical.

Burwash Bike Box Hire may deduct reasonable repair or replacement costs from any security deposit paid.

Where repair or replacement costs exceed the deposit amount, you remain responsible for the balance.

4. Packing and Use of Bike Cases

You are solely responsible for:

• Correctly packing and securing your bicycle and belongings;
• Following any packing instructions provided;
• Ensuring your bike is suitable for transport;
• Checking airline or travel carrier requirements.

Burwash Bike Box Hire is not responsible for damage caused by:

• Incorrect packing;
• Airline, airport, courier, or third-party handling;
• Security inspections;
• Transit delays;
• Loss or damage to bicycles, components, accessories, clothing, tools, electronics, or personal possessions placed inside the bike case.

5. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for:

• Death or personal injury caused by negligence;
• Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
• Any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.

Subject to the above, Burwash Bike Box Hire shall not be liable for:

• Indirect or consequential losses;
• Travel disruption or missed flights/events;
• Airline baggage handling issues;
• Damage to bikes or personal belongings transported within the Equipment.

6. Deposit and Refunds

Any security deposit will be refunded following inspection of the returned Equipment, less:

• Agreed hire charges;
• Reasonable cleaning costs where excessive cleaning is required;
• Reasonable repair or replacement costs where applicable.

7. Late Returns

Late returns may incur additional hire charges at the standard daily rental rate unless agreed otherwise in writing.

8. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
